May 22, 2009 - June 27, 2009
The exhibition features selected oil paintings from the series created over the last two years. The artist refers to the painterly idiom of the "new wild" of the 1980s. In vivid colours and broad brushstrokes, he paints characters and scenes characteristic of American culture. He also renders characters from children stories, icons of pop culture and ground breaking historical events.
Paweł Kałużyński was born in 1979 in Warsaw where he continues to live and work. He studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (MFA in 2005, class of Marian Czapla).
The exhibition will be accompanied by the illustrated catalogue with an essay by Tomasz Stawiszyński.
